Parks and Rec operated for three seasons as a private rooftop garden designed collaboratively with cooks to custom grow herbs, greens, flowers and vegetables in moveable sub-irrigated planters.

Parks and Rec was developed with chef and permaculture expert Katie Mathieu as a 1200 sq. ft. kitchen garden on the roof over Parkdale restaurant Parts & Labour.  Composed of 102 planters, the garden provided ingredients for sale to the restaurant below. Parks and Rec also featured an experimental hops garden to support Bellwoods Brewery’s local hops program.
