BURN IT DOWN

CONCEPT SPACES

The ritual of cleansing through fire is offered to this abandoned and raw site.

Gouges in the land are the first signs of the development to come on the north western fringe of Toronto’s Don Valley watershed.

Land cuts hold controlled slow burns of dark embers, cedar and sage burning through the night;
stimulating renewal.

Three, 10 foot long slices into undisturbed soil become a temporary installation, the focus for gathering in the garden of a century house slated for demolition. VTLA joined a group of artists and curators for a week long residency of an experiment with space and conversations about real estate development and land use. http://theweybourneproject.tumblr.com/About

Installation support from Chef Jamie Kennedy and artist Emily Hogg.
